7 week pictures!!

Last Saturday, Justin, Grace and I went to Katy to get her 7 week pictures done! Here are some inital ones the photographer sent us. It was such a fun couple of hours, just hanging out and enjoying watching our baby be a little model;)
The photographer is Wendy Bushman and she is so fun! I found her through Mari and Kelly, and now I am referring her on!
I'll write more later! OX

Sammy and Grace playdate

Oh Romeo!

Sam, doing pinkie pushups

Hey there
Little ladybug

Not so much into eachother (yet!)

Grace and her buddy Sam had an awesome playdate yesterday. They just hung out in the pink playyard all day, batting around rattles and doing other baby stuff. Sam looks so big in the playyard, and he is so strong he almost knocks the whole thing over! He is sitting up now (with some momma help:) and is so happy. Grace is starting to see herself in the mirror and is thrilled with what she sees! ha ha:) She breaks out into a little smile when she catches her reflection. She is starting to reach for objects and she kicks her legs when she makes something make a noise! What fun!

Things are going great here in Texas. We are expecting JB's parents on Valentines day, so we're looking forward to them meeting Grace! Soon after, my friend Selina may visit for a week or so (fingers crossed!!) And then Dad Tim,Leigh and Andrew will be coming in April!! Yay! I am SO thankful that we have such great friends and family that want to come visit us and love little Grace. I know we'll be NL in the summer so life is super busy, but awesome. Being a mommy is such an unreal, awesome thing and I am beyond thankful every day for her! tear!

Ok, must go and attempt some housework while missy sleeps. Here are some pics I stole from Mari's blog!

Grace's Big Weekend!

Snug as a bug in her 3-6 month sleeper!

Obviously, when she is sleeping is the only time I get to take pics and blog! haha

Hi everyone:) I totally intend on blogging more often, but I am still learning to do it all with a little baby!! We are doing great though and getting into a routine. We're going for walks in the morning now so that's been good for both of us. It is SO strange to start 'working out' again. Grace makes it so easy to go for walks because I can tell she loves the fresh air on her. Daisy has been going good trotting alongside us, ears blowing around;)

So, this weekend Grace had two big events; going out to eat and getting her professional pictures taken. She was amazing at the Japanese place because she slept the whole time. It was so loud there because it was a Hibachi grill so there was lots of noise! We went with Matt and Carissa, Char and Damien and Matt and Rachel. Guess what?! Matt and Rachel just got engaged! YAY! I didn't take my camera to get a pic of them, but you should have seen that rock! Wow! haha.

Getting her pictures taken was pretty fun too. We went back to Wendy (the lady who took our maternity pics) and I think they are going to turn out lovely.

So, I better run because I am planning a baby shower for Char and Damien!! I really think it'll be twice as fun as a regular baby shower (wink!)

Love you!! XO

First Shopping Day...First of Many that is;)

New Fairy Friend. Her legs rattle and wings crinkle!

Friend Sam, totally asleep! Check out those legs!

Ladybugs are SO 2009

I think this onesie is a little big, but it'll be perfect soon

Mari talked me into this kitty hat! I have to admit, it's very sweet

Hi everyone:) Sorry it has been so long since a post but I am learning to do everything myself, and it has been interesting!! For example, instead of having homemade pork chops, we'll have a frozen (yucky!) pizza! I am loving playing with Grace all day, and I am learning to let some household things go (I promise, my floors are not shiny anymore!). Overall, we are doing really well and we are learning a routine.

So, Mari, Sam, Grace and I went shopping today at Memorial City Mall today. Mari helped me get up the courage to actually get out and do the whole shopping thing with an infant. Mari drove and we put the two carseats in the car...the babes were so cute! We all went to this little mexican place in the mall (yummy Austin spot..forget the name) and then went shopping for baby and mom clothes. Grace got a whole bunch of spring clothes and Sam was a real boy, just hanging out watching us girls shop. Mari and I did get some mommy clothes, which was fun. I tried to get some shoes but sadly, my feet are almost a whole size bigger since having her! What in the?! I know...cruel. But, it was a successful day overall and now I feel more confident to go out again:)
Well, Grace is still up and Justin and I are passing her back and forth. Have a good night everyone!

Missing our Nana

Grace in her Ladybug 0-3 month outfit...and she has almost outgrown it!!!

Nana and Grace loving eachother xoxo

Hey everyone. It's Saturday night and Justin and I are hanging out for the first time with just Grace and Daisy. It has been a lonely few days and I think Grace misses her Nana Glenda because she has been Fussy tastic today! All the poor baby wants to do is snuggle with me and if I try to put her down, she makes it clear that is NOT gonna happen! I am hoping that she soon will get back to her cheerful little self (and I hope I do too!). We have been so lucky to have so much family here, so it's really weird to be without them:( Sigh...We had a fun playdate yesterday with Mari and Sam, so that really helped. Oh, the movie Stepbrothers is super funny (we watched it yesterday...when the babies were asleep!)

On a brighter note, Annette, my childhood BFF, just got engaged!!!!!!!!!! YAY! Her and Jon are such a fun, awesome couple and I can't WAIT to see them get married. As with all of my faraway friends, I miss her like crazy but we always pick up where we left off (well, we don't really play barbies anymore...) but we like to remember all that fun stuff:) Ahhhhh love. Congrats Nerty and Jon!!!!!! XO

Above is a little video of Grace that Mom took right before she left. Grace is just chilling on her playmat, being super cute. As always, not much action in these video's, but if you love Grace, it's adorable!

XOXO

Saying goodbye to Nanny...for a few months:)

Out for a walk

Grace playing this morning

She is already in 3-6 month clothes!

It's COLD for Houston

Grace and her fav friend, elephant

Sweet face

Ok, does she look weirdly like Justin here?! I think so!

Hi ya'all;) I am blogging in the few secs I have, but I needed to post some pics of our playtime from this morning! Grace finally noticed herself in the mirror and was sooo excited! She kicked her legs and moved her arms everytime she saw herself. She learned that if she hits the rattles, they make sound! It was very exciting for her, but I think mom and I were out of our minds excited. We have a few video's of her playing in her yard that I'll get JB to post later.

On a sad note, momma is leaving for Newfoundland tomorrow. I don't know what we're gonna do without her daily help and love. Grace just loves hearing her voice and has smiled at her more than anyone. I know Grace is just a baby, but I think she does notice when people leave. I think Justin will take her to the airport because I dont feel that I will be in any state to drive back after a teary goodbye:(

Well, I must go help mom get ready. We are going to visit Char and Damien and then to see Mari and Sam. Oh! Does that last pic not look JUST like Justin?! I think it's that sly little smile!

Love you all! XO

Bath Time!

Grace and my long time friend, Wrinkles

Just drying off

Bathtime with Nana

Note the strategically placed cloth...I AM a lady you know.

I am sitting here as mom is rocking a very sad baby:( Overall though, things are going much better for Grace! Her medicine is working and she is growing up so fast. We all went to the outlet mall yesterday and bought her 3 month old onesie's! She is actually wearing one now...yikes! I swear baby sizes are messed up. She is over 9 pounds now and she is so alert. She makes little sounds that sounds like an elephant so you can guess her new nickname!

Mom and I are just enjoying our last few days together. We went to the alley theater last night and saw a play. It was so strange to dress up and leave Grace, but we had fun. She is leaving on Friday to go back to Newfoundland so I will have to learn to do all the things she has been doing for so long. I know Grace will really miss her (not to mention me:(

It's an awesome day here in Texas again:) We are about to go to the park and let poor Daisy run (she has had a BIG adjustment). Better go post some pics before the little Elephant needs to eat! XOXO

Just another day at the park

Chilling with Daddy...and Duke

Playtime

Snuggle with momma

Mommy and me at Bear Creek

Please ignore the McDonalds

Cozy in my bunny blankie (thanks Aunt Gert:)

Today Mom, Grace, Daisy and I went to Bear Creek Park for a little walk. Grace slept the entire time but I know she loves the movement and the fresh air (yes, it was about 15-20 degrees!)I told mom she needs to get a tan to make all her friends jealous at home;) Daisy had a huge run and it makes me realize how much energy she really needs to get out...poor thing.

We are relaxing at home tonight, drinking coffee and eating brownies. Justin had a great time in Austin with the guys but was happy to get home to his girls.

So, I am looking forward to tonight's sleep because Grace has been sleeping through the night!! (Well, 4-6 hours..that's sleeping through the night for an infant, right?!). She is feeling much better since she has been taking the reflux medicine. It was so hard to see her in so much pain and it's fun to just enjoy play time with her. She is becoming so much more engaged, looking at us and kicking her legs when we sing to her:)

Here are some pics of our little Broderick xoox

Happy One Month Grace!

It's Saturday night and Grace, Mom and me are playing, eating Thai food and relaxing!! I thought I would upload a few pics of the sweet girl while I had a sec. Justin is in Austin this weekend on a group bike ride and we are really missing him but I know he is having fun...hey, my spa day is coming up, right Justin?! ha ha.
Grace is doing great and feeling a little better since her medicine has kicked in. She rolled from her back to her tummy today too. Oh, and her little black head has blonde roots!! I can't for sure call it yet, but I think we have a blonde on our hands:) She turned one month old on the 7th and it blows my mind that she has been here for almost 5 weeks now. Every day we discover something new about her and it's been awesome. We looooooove her so much!

Happy Birthday Poppy Broderick!!

Happy birthday Poppy!

Fun times with my friend Sam!!

He is SO cute!

Sad on Dad's last day....

Poor Daisy..not the baby anymore!

Char's Birthday!

Happy Birthday Pop Broderick:) We are thinking of you and can't wait until you come down to play with us! We love you already..
Since the last post, we have a had a little celebration for Char's 28th birthday! Her and Damien came over for supper and ate lots (not on my post preggers diet yet! oops..). It was fun times! Also, Mari brought over Sammie to play with Grace and there were so many photo ops! They are great buddies and we're looking forward to playing in Sam's new playroom. It's crazy for me to think all of these normal everyday things are all firsts to Grace!

We had a little excursion to the doctor today because Grace has been a little fussy and I was worried it was her shoulder (it has been clicking). The Doc said he was not worried about her shoulder but said it may be reflux! I thought that was reserved for older people, but I guess new borns can have it too! We have some medicine we're going to try so hopefully that helps.

Other than that, we are getting into a routine without poppy Roy. I so miss him holding her because they loved eachother so much. She would gaze up at him and he'd sing to her...so sweet. We can't wait to see him again.

Justin and I are hoping to come home in the spring for a visit!! We can't wait to meet baby Gabe (who I hope is feeling better). We'll keep you updated on our Canadian visit!

XOXOXOX
